<p style="text-align: left;">Iv’e been at kevicc since year 7 im now in year 12 thoughout kevicc i have learnt a lot and have always enjoyed it however since ive joined it has changed loads not for the good either, uniform has become an issue and i would argue an issue to distract us from what is really an issue the level of teaching which standards have dropped significantly. This is a cosmetic change to hide the fact that there are bigger issues at this school than what the students are wearing if Keivcc wants to be a school that is succeful and a school of which its students are proud of it needs to make more changes than its uniform – Alex</p>

<p style="text-align: left;">Uniforms do not preclude individuality – my son is as individual as they come. Uniforms leave children free to develop personalities which are not based on mere material posessions – Alison</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">I hated my school uniform when I was at Dartmouth school; I used to always try to get away with straying away from the official uniform as much as I could, such as wearing a white shirt instead of blue, or forgetting my revolting yellow and blue school tie or wearing a polar-neck jumper instead of a V-neck. I would be a hypocrite if in adulthood I supported imposing on children what I hated myself when I was at school – Chris</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">KIDS WEAR UNIFORMS. Even if there is no uniform policy at a school, kids all end up wearing pretty much what all the other kids are wearing anyway. The main difference is that it changes every month. However you sometimes have to explain that you cannot afford the latest designer gear that “All my friends are wearing” at the moment. My kids sometimes went to schools with and without uniform policies, I did not see any development issues but I wasn’t looking. How do you carry out that kind of research anyway? You can’t put the same kid through school twice, once with and once without as all children are individuals and should be respected as such regardless of how they dress. On a side note, some parents will go to enormous lengths to move into a catchment area for a particular school. Surely they the don’t complain about the uniform – William</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">I went to uniform and non uniform schools, the non uniform school was by far the better school, it had nothing to do with what we were wearing, the ethos was one of mutual respect and the standard of education was higher – Rock</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Bullies will bully, uniform or no uniform. Better focus all the energy that’s been wasted by the introduction of the uniform to look into why these bullies feel the need to bully. And it would also be better if the energy wasted on the introduction of the uniform would go towards improving teaching as that is why the kids are there – Vanessa</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">About the person who said the children wear the same clothes anyway, that is the choice of each individual whereas a uniform enforced by school is not. Also I have never seen so much bullying as the uniform school that my child went to in the past. Bullying is everywhere and if they don’t pick on the clothes you wear, bullies will find something else. Safer? [replying to Kate Mason in the interview above] When a person who isn’t supposed to be on the site does come onto the KEVICC site they will probably be a little bit older than the students wearing the uniform and will therefore still not be easily identified as they could easily be confused with the Kennicott students who don’t have to wear a uniform, so safety sounds like another excuse – Vanessa</p>
