Recovering Stammerer (of 50 years) Speaks on the radio…
*** post has been modified in case of malicious code ***

I’ve got to be honest right now, I was nervous as hell before the interview. Richard Pike contacted the show saying he had stammered for 50 years and would like to appear on the totnesmonster show. After seeing the film The Kings Speech Richard wants to share his experiences.

BTW Richard uses a technique called starfish

I am Richard’s sister. I am so proud of him, he is amazing. You cannot imagine how inhibiting a stammer can be (think education, friendships, relationships, job opportunities etc etc) unless you have one or know someone close to you that has one. Richard just didn’t give up, I admire him immensely for that.
Good on you bro!
Nice one Cathy:) I asked Richard afterwards whether he had any doubts about the technique he was using, whether he thought it might fail him at any point? He said no. What a life change to go from not being able to communicate verbally to being able to tackle an interview without any doubt! I was nervous, how on earth was he feeling?
How lovely to hear your voice coming out of a radio!!!!!!!!!!! What else would your mad Auntie Jean say. As a fellow R.S. of 75 yrs keep going boy! I can see you with your own radio show yet. At last that wicked sense of humour is unleashed!
